i took this picture of me and my kids last year.

i took this one a few weeks ago.

a little eight-year-old boy just used the word “abhor” while playing with merrick. the boy then asked merrick if he knew what it meant. of course, merrick didn’t know. the boy then turned to me.
“louissa, you should know what it means, right?” i gave him a definition. “very good. it’s an SAT word — i know many SAT words. i’ve actually passed the SAT course. alacrity is a very good word, don’t you think?” sure, it’s a good word. i just don’t think to use it very often.
man. i was a stupid eight-year-old.
i’m constantly complaing, being quite negative with my joking, and am always too outspoken concerning my opinions. and for some reason i think i can get away with it. it’s rather funny because i’ve been thinking about this recently and then when my sister and i arrived home late last night, we talked about it for a bit.
sinclair’s and their opinions. everyone has always joked around about how opinionated we are, but i never thought that it could be a bad thing. everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it’s not my fault if i’m the only one ever voicing what i think concerning different issues. and sure, we all know what we like and dislike, but it doesn’t always mean that we just blurt them out with whoever and whenever.
i’ve gotten a bit careless with my words. i’ve never been good about thinking before i speak — in fact i almost always think after i speak and then almost always regret something i’ve said — but i’ve decided that i must start the thinking before the speaking.
so do me a favor. if i’m ever complaining, being negative, being to obnoxious with my opinions, just tell me to stop. remind me that i don’t want to be like this.
“this too i shall conquer.”
tomorrow night my favorite hallmark movie is on. fun.
ever wonder what our church building was like when it really was a school? here’s a few photos i found online — they’re quite fun!
they used the stage just like we do.
they used the front entrance — something we don’t do.
they played basketball, baseball, football (see the second photo on page), and of course, you can’t have the sports without the cheerleaders.
iris porteous taught in our building.
just a fun shot with the building. and another one.
madrid really was lovely. see this and this.
or maybe you’re not as fascinated by thing’s like this and find it all a bore. sorry.
first. happy birthday lore. i love you so much.
second. posting pictures is much easier then writing and i’m sure it’s much more enjoyable for you to look at then to have to deal with me writing all about, well, me. here are some of my niece and nephew at the yellow house last night.

gabriel boy with his grin and our baby doll, unsnapped, and as cute as ever.

gabriel drumming with his drums at his yellow house.

the cutest chubby baby doll ever with her toys.

gabriel opening a early present with bronwyn looking on.
yes, i love them so much. how can you not though when she lays on the floor next to you and puts her short chubby arm around your neck and he giggles all the time and talks about things only a two-year-old can get away with? i’m just the aunt, but they still make my day a bit brighter when i walk down in the morning and see him drumming on all the cans and my little girl toddling around and falling every other step just because she’s a klutz.
i’m going to miss them. thankfully, they’re only moving down the street.
and i’m thankful that i still have a little boy with me. merrick isn’t that old. : )

my wicked cool brother-in-law.

looking out.

walking up to find just the right tree.

our gabriel boy.

all of us — well, the family members that went out to get the tree.

decorating the tree.

spending time together.

colin, gabriel, merrick, and mama/nana lying under the tree.

gabriel sinclair paladin.
the family room is ready for christmas. the tree is up and decorated, the furniture is rearranged to fit the tree in, the decorations are all out, and the candles are still burning from earlier. we made cookies, hot chocolate, had friends over, played christmas music, and hung up our ornaments. i don’t know if i’ve ever told you, but i love christmas.
i’m just a bit confused, a bit frustrated, and a bit annoyed with myself because i’m feeling like this. i don’t believe it’s at all Godly.
that’s it.
i don’t have time to write, but i did upload some pictures.
and i did watch mr.darcy and elizabeth this afternoon. it wasn’t my favorite, but i do believe i fell in long with england a bit more… someday when i’m rich i’m going to go visit.
i love it here.
i’ll be home late monday night.
